Leadership and political participation are fundamental prerequisites for just and democratic societies. Oprah’s Angel Network seeks to expand the pool of effective, purposeful and ethical leaders.

Developing Leaders

Through support for activities that advance social entrepreneurship and transformation, Oprah’s Angel Network will strengthen the pipeline of emerging leaders who will lend their voices, talents and energies to solve the most significant problems of our time. One of our largest leadership initiatives to date is O Ambassadors, a school-based program that inspires young people to be active, compassionate and knowledgeable global citizens. In its first year, over 10,000 students participated in the program.

With your support, we’ll continue to be a part of activities that encourage leadership among youth and adults. Together, we will:

• Engage youth in opportunities to exercise their voice and develop the leadership skills necessary to become catalysts of change in their schools, communities and the world around them
• Increase the representation of women as leaders in corporate and civic settings
• Create networks of emerging and established leaders to maximize the impact of their resources to address issues of education, human rights, community development and other significant challenges in their communities and in the world
