We hear “community” and envision groups of like-minded people working together. We see people from all over the world coming together to support one another, learning from one another and inspiring one another. Our role is to help people evolve from surviving to thriving.

Changing Communities

Oprah’s Angel Network is committed to providing resources and opportunities to people living in under-resourced and impoverished communities across the United States and around the world. Here’s some of what we’ve already done:

• Helped build or restore more than 400 homes in eight communities across Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama for the families impacted by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita
• Created a recovery center in East Biloxi, Mississippi that’s providing free design services and counseling to more than 3,000 families who lost their homes and livelihoods after Hurricane Katrina
• Revitalized communities in Sri Lanka that were devastated by the 2004 South Asian tsunami, by building homes, re-starting businesses and building a vocational training center, giving people new skills and new job possibilities

With your support, we’ll continue to create and sustain communities that are devoted to unlocking each other’s potential. Together, we will:

• Develop livable communities that promote social, economic and health equity
• Connect people with opportunities for enrichment, and mentors who can help them build their own dreams
• Create economic and cultural empowerment opportunities in the United States and abroad
